One of my favorites from Jim Rohn is effective communication is 20% what you know and 80% how you feel about what you know.
When you are passionate about a subject, it comes through in your communication with others and they will be more likely to follow you.
The great Jim Rohn shared many incredible thoughts and ideas.
One of my favorites from Jim Rohn is effective communication is 20% what you know and 80% how you feel about what you know. Effective communication is 20% about what you know and 80% about how you feel about what you know.
What Jim is talking about is passion.
Knowing something is only part of the equation.
It’s knowing it and caring about it and liking it and being passionate about it that’s going to make the difference when you’re communicating with other people. If you just know something and you’re just explaining it, it’s going to fall flat with them. But if you are passionate about it and really care, they’re going to pick up on that passion and it’s going to draw them into the conversation.
When I talk about speaking and communication skills, I’m passionate about it. Yeah, I know the techniques and I know how to teach it, but that’s not the point. I believe in it, I care about it, and all I want is to help people just like you to be more successful when you’re communicating with others.
Let that passion come through for whatever you do.
When you’re communicating, make sure that what you really believe and what you really feel about your topic is shared with the people you’re communicating with. Don’t be flat. Be animated, be excited about what you’re doing. It’s okay to be excited and it’s okay to have fun when you’re talking to other people.
Share your enthusiasm.
Your success will follow.
